Hey friends 🤍
I know I’ve been a little MIA this holiday season, and truthfully, it was intentional. I needed the quiet. I needed to step back from the noise of social media and the constant pull of the internet to sit with my thoughts, my emotions, and my heart. And what better day to reflect than the very last day of the year?
I started this year full of confidence and excitement. I truly believed this was going to be the year everything finally fell into place. I was leaving behind a toxic work environment, finishing my master’s degree, and stepping into a new career I genuinely love. It felt like life was aligning — and I was certain this would also be the year we began growing our family.
And then… life reminded me that it doesn’t always follow the plan.
2025 turned out to be one of the most challenging years I’ve faced yet. Early on, we learned firsthand the harsh realities of owning a business. It’s incredible how a single client can nearly derail something you’ve poured your heart, time, and resources into — not because of poor work or lack of integrity on our part, but because entitlement and power can make people believe they don’t have to honor what they owe. I can’t share all the details, but it was a sobering reminder of how often small businesses are taken advantage of, especially by those in high-ranking positions who assume they can get away with it.
As we navigated financial uncertainty and questioned whether our business would survive, another weight continued to grow — my ongoing struggle with infertility. Nearing the end of year three of trying to conceive felt heavier than I ever expected. I’ve shared parts of this journey before, but the mental and emotional toll has been unlike anything I imagined. The end of the year was especially hard. Hope becomes fragile when one day you see those faint, promising lines… and the next day, they disappear. It’s a kind of heartbreak that quietly reshapes you.
As we head into the new year, we’re continuing this journey with more knowledge, more intention, and a new step forward — starting with a procedure to check for signs of endometriosis before deciding what comes next. It’s not the path I envisioned, but it’s the one we’re on, and we’re taking it one step at a time.
Despite everything — the stress, the grief, the uncertainty — these last couple of months have been about climbing out of a dark place. I’ve been working on myself, choosing healing, and slowly finding my way back to hope. And I can honestly say, I feel it again. I can look back at this year and say, look at what we survived… and look at where we are now. As long as we continue to fight for ourselves, our growth, our love, and our happiness, I truly believe we’ll be okay.
As I close this chapter, I’m stepping into 2026 with an open heart. Will there be challenges? Probably. New adventures? I hope so. Growth? Without a doubt. I’m walking into this year with more hope and faith than I expected — and a quiet excitement for what’s ahead. I’m ready to leave my twenties behind and see what thirty has in store. I’m grateful beyond words for the people standing beside me as I take this next step.
This year taught me resilience. The next one? I’m claiming growth, joy, and new beginnings.
So bring it on, 2026 — I’m ready for you.
And trust me… there’s so much more to come.
With love,
Kait M. 🤍
